Importers will find it easier to enter the Register, and the opportunities for importing brands based on official contracts will expand. Sales representatives and distributors will have the opportunity to work with new brands. Consumers will have a wider selection of quality products, and prices will stabilize due to competition. Investors are once again demonstrating the openness of the Uzbek market to international brands. This decision is another step by the government towards transitioning to a market economy, opening up trade infrastructure, and creating a predictable environment for investors.

Uzbekistan is opening its doors wide in the brand market. What does the new decision mean? Wait 3 years, not 5. The next easing in the Uzbek market for international brands. The decision №506 adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers on August 8 is not just a technical document, but another signal in the country's foreign trade policy: "Barriers for brands are decreasing, the market is opening up."
This decision was adopted within the framework of implementing the instructions of the President of Uzbekistan in 2022 on "providing the population with products of international brands and integrating local enterprises into global value chains."
Companies importing international brand products under direct contracts will be included in a special register. Previously, to enter this register, it was necessary to provide documentation that the branded products had been on the market for at least 5 years.
This requirement blocked the entry of many new, but innovative brands into the Uzbek market. Now, this requirement has been reduced to 3 years. That is, if a brand has been active in the international market for at least 3 years, its products can be imported into Uzbekistan through official distributors, manufacturers, or authorized dealers. This change creates a huge opportunity for new brands, startups, and fast-growing companies. The new decision requires that international brand products be available in retail chains in at least two regions (North America, Europe, Middle East, East Asia). This confirms that the brand is truly international.
Importers. Access to the Register will be easier, and the opportunity to import brands under official contracts will expand. Sales representatives and distributors: The opportunity to work with new brands will emerge. Consumers: The choice of quality products will increase, and prices will stabilize due to competition. Investors: The Uzbek market is once again demonstrating its openness to international brands. This decision is another step in the government's determination to transition to a market economy, open up trade infrastructure, and create a predictable environment for investors.
Uzbekistan is presenting itself as "a country open not only to large, old brands, but also to modern and innovative manufacturers."
The №506 decision adopted on August 8 is not a technical change in foreign trade, but an important link in a chain of political and economic actions. It confirms the country's openness to international brands, the competitiveness of the local market, and the liberalization of the business environment.
