TRAFFIC POLICE ACTIVITY AND PUBLIC CONTROL IN FERGHANA

A press conference was recently held at the Department of Road Safety of the Fergana Regional Department of Internal Affairs with the participation of media representatives and bloggers. At the event, the leadership of the sector announced figures for the first four months of 2026. According to the information provided by the colonel, although road traffic accidents in the region decreased by 41.5% compared to last year, an increase in the dynamics of fatalities involving children and pedestrians was observed.

The most striking aspect is that over 200,000 violations were detected in just 4 months, with nearly 60,000 of them recorded as serious offenses. Following these figures, we, as representatives of "Farg'ona Media", put forward an important initiative. Specifically, on the days of Eid al-Adha prayers and Fridays, worshipers who are forced to leave their cars in the second row due to a lack of parking space around mosques should not be immediately fined.

Our proposal is to first limit ourselves to a warning in such situations! After all, the purpose of punishment is not to extract money from people's pockets, but to educate them. Our ultimate goal is for the public to be satisfied with the activities of state bodies, especially traffic police.
