WE MUST KNOW THIS. THE PURE NAME OF OUR ANCESTORS HAS BEEN RESTORED

Consistent efforts are being made to restore historical justice and rehabilitate the names of our ancestors who were unjustly accused, had their property confiscated, and were subjected to exile and repression during the totalitarian regime.

This was greatly facilitated by the adoption of the Decree of our President dated October 8, 2020, "On additional measures for a deeper study of the heritage of victims of repression and the perpetuation of their memory."

As is known, to ensure the implementation of the Decree, a Republican working group has been established to organize and coordinate the deeper study of the heritage of victims of repression and the perpetuation of their memory.

Concurrently, after the approval of the "Roadmap" for restoring the names and perpetuating the memory of victims of repression, the scope of research to identify their names has been expanded, and responsible officials have been granted access to the departmental archives of ministries and agencies.

Furthermore, it is stipulated to submit proposals in the prescribed manner for the rehabilitation of the names of victims of repression identified during scientific research but not rehabilitated for various reasons.

In addition, a working group has been formed at the Supreme Court to address the issues of rehabilitating the names of victims of repression who were not rehabilitated for specific reasons and perpetuating their memory.

Thanks to the consistent work and extensive efforts of the working group, 1,236 of our compatriots who were repressed during the Soviet era have been rehabilitated and exonerated in recent years.

Recently, the Supreme Court received and the working group reviewed criminal cases concerning a group of our compatriots accused of providing material support to Basmachi movements, forming armed gangs, organizing rebellions against Soviet power, and carrying out anti-Soviet activities, based on the decisions of the Special Department of the Military Council of the Fergana Group of Forces of the Turkestan Front and the Troika under the United State Political Directorate of Central Asia and Kazakhstan from 1920-1934.

In open court sessions held on May 6, 2026, cassation rulings acquitting 161 individuals in 8 criminal cases were issued by the judicial board for criminal cases of the Supreme Court, in accordance with Article 83 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
